Don Caribe is an organization where you are received and treated as an equal. I was therefore included in the so-called "Don Caribe family" from the beginning and felt very much at home. I experienced my internship as an educational period in which I was confronted with different cultures and also had the space to implement my own ideas. Everyone within the organization thinks along about the future possibilities of Don Caribe and works hard. The relaxed atmosphere and the appreciation expressed to each other makes Don Caribe a very pleasant place to work.

During my internship, I was well taken in tow and I felt immediately at home. All the experiences I have experienced at Don Caribe have led to strong self-development and very good friendships, partly due to the family atmosphere that prevails there, which I personally really enjoyed. In short, a nice internship with a very good atmosphere and good company!

My journey at Don Caribe started out with working with the Don himself by welcoming tourists from the cruise ships visiting our home country at the Megapier. Here I enjoyed talking to the tourists, introducing them to our island and welcoming them with a nice blue Curaçao cocktail! Definitely, a spot where people know how to have a good time. The handcrafted souvenirs collection offered became a bridge to introduce my country. It connects our local heritage and culture to the ones visiting.
Working closely with the team, artisans, locals and interns and also managing the store at Mambo Beach, which has the most amazing view of the sea, was an interaction of cultures which I enjoyed.

Taking initiative was encouraged during my internship. The more initiative I took, the more I was positively challenged in my work. Within the company I was encouraged to get more out of my personal learning goals. Customer relationship and customer satisfaction are also of paramount importance here. With the help of Don and Kendrick I have gained a lot of experience in this area. I also worked with helpful colleagues who saw me as their equal and I never had the feeling that I was ‘just an intern’. Within the organization I was always appreciated, respected and encouraged.

Don Caribe is a startup company that has offered me many learning opportunities because I was able to put my theoretical knowledge into practice. There was always a nice working atmosphere and nice colleagues who were always willing to help.

As an intern at Don Caribe, I had a very educational and above all fun time. From the first day, I felt at home in a nice and pleasant team. I have learned a lot from everyone at Don Caribe and successfully completed my internship. Because your opinion really counts at Don Caribe you get the feeling from the start that you are part of the company. All in all, I had a great time here that I will never forget!

My experience at Don Caribe was excellent, apart from being a family, the most important thing was the respect and trust we have with each other.

Working at Don Caribe for almost a year and being able to work at both stores, Mambo and Mega Pier has been quite an experience. These two stores have so much in common and yet they are so different. At The Megapier store, you’ll be one of the first ones to receive our cruise tourists. You can always tell them about our Island and what it has to offer. Mambo Beach is one of Curaçao’s prime tourist spots and its so great to work near the ocean. You are always meeting people from all around the world.

Working at Don Caribe gives you the chance to interact with tourists at its best. Everyone works as a team, helping each other to build up.

My internship at Don Caribe was an amazing experience! I have learned so much about everything. Not just about business, but also about myself and about interacting with other cultures. I have the opportunity to enrich my knowledge by doing my Master’s degree while I can apply the theory to the “real word”. In such a short time I have grown in this company like I know I wouldn't have in another one, but more importantly, I have grown as a person. I am thankful to Don Caribe for this great opportunity!
